Do you Yoga?

We can start together!

For many years, I have been saying "I want to get into yoga", but I've never gotten around to it. It wasn't just that I simply didn't get around to it, but when I actually had the time, I chose other activities. No matter how much I knew the benefits of yoga, I always felt like other activities were more beneficial--like running, lifting weights, and dancing! Oh yeah!

For one, I love, love cardio. If my legs (and my heart) uh, (and my hips), uh (and every other part of me) would allow me, I would run & run on the treadmill. I felt like this was getting a lot done in the way of fitness. However, when you really study health and wellness, you learn that stretching your body & releasing mental stress have the most benefits out of any fitness activity.

The mind controls the body. If you are not re-centering your mind, your body can only take so much. Re-centering looks like taking deep breaths, relinquishing heavy thoughts, focusing on balancing your emotions, & getting enough rest; just to name a few things. Yoga does all of this!

Yoga involves breathwork, balancing the mind, and going to your place of peace. But, that's not all! Yoga also involves stretching the body and holding poses as you get more skilled in your yoga flow. I know that part sounds intimidating, but you can start with a beginner's yoga class. We are right here in the same space. Let's get started together!

Beginner's yoga classes involve breath work, stretching & gentle poses to help you re-center your mind, body, spirit, & emotions. Trust me, these classes are made for those of us who cannot stand on our heads--yet! Come go on this journey with me. Let's yoga together!

There are some general rules:

  1. You must be open to everything that is for you. If you are manifesting big things, get ready to receive them all after this class!

  2. Before you come, you must say "I am enough! I can do this!"

  3. Dress comfortably so that your body can release.

LaDeidra Wooten is a Registered Nurse who specializes in Holistic Nursing & Holistic Therapy. She attended the University of Memphis and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 2008. During her 13 years as a Nurse, LaDeidra completed extensive training & obtained several certifications in Holistic Health and Nursing. She is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association. LaDeidra is also an avid reader and enjoys sharing the knowledge she gains to help all individuals be happy and healthy. She continues to study and stay abreast of clinical information, through nursing scholastic journals , training programs, holistic literature, and personal experience with holistic therapy. After a number of years in Emergency/Trauma Nursing, and meeting so many people during transitions in life, LaDeidra realized Holistic Nursing is her passion . She now works in private practice as a Holistic Nurse and provides Holistic & Complementary Therapy . She is also a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, Certified Nurse Case Manager, Life Purpose Coach & Spiritual Counselor. Through her work as a Nurse Case Manager, she was able to witness that a personalized, and culturally sensitive plan of care creates a healing environment and leads to better outcomes for the patient.  When not with patients, LaDeidra enjoys creating unique products to help people relax and heal naturally. She believes Holistic Health is extremely important and this is her life's work. She is very proud to offer holistic & complementary therapy to be integrated into a conventional medicine plan of care to help heal the whole person: mind, body, spirit, and emotions.
