Some people are open books. Others are not. Everyone has at least three sides. š
The Three Sides of You
How you truly are in your mind and inside.
How you show up and want to be perceived by the world.
How the world actually perceives you.
None of these sides is a lie. All of them are part of you. We all have multiple facets, regardless of who we are.
š„Nurse DeiĀ®ļø-ism: Some people have four, five, eight, or even nine other personas inside them. THAT'S not normal. š But three layers? That's typical. š
You know who you are deep down. However, when you're out in public, you won't reveal everything about yourself. It's not the same as being comfortable in your own skin.
Even when you think you're being completely authentic, others may perceive you differently. This can be slight or significant, depending on the person.
Have you ever had a conversation where you felt like you were being a hard-core, raw, open book? Then someone says, "I always thought ____________ about you."
You might respond with, "Whuuuut?? How could you think that? I never said that, acted like that, or communicated that!"
This happens because, regardless of how you present yourself, each person adds their own interpretation. They create a unique flavor of perception.
One person might see a butterfly, while another sees a splash of paint. We are all art. š
Why Understanding Yourself Matters
Why does this matter?
You must know yourself. If you let the world dictate who you are or how they perceive you, you will NEVER be your true self.
You won't even feel like yourself because you'll be cycling through all the things you've been told.
Controlling the Narrative
You can only control the narrative to a certain extent. The art and the story are open to interpretation.
If the opinions of others matter to you, add some commentary to your art to give it depth. Engage in conversations, connect, and share more layers of yourself. This is especially important in personal relationships, family, and deep connections.
If their opinions don't hold much weight, let them watch, think, and brush it off. š¤·š¾āāļø They may see a splash of paint or a hot mess. And? You know you're an abstract butterfly. š
Embracing Your Complexity
Understanding your complexity is crucial. Embrace all the layers that make you unique. Each layer adds richness to your identity.
The Importance of Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is key to personal growth. It allows you to navigate the world with confidence. When you understand your true self, you can engage with others more authentically.
Building Deeper Connections
When you share your layers with others, you create opportunities for deeper connections. Vulnerability can lead to stronger relationships.
The Art of Perception
Remember, perception is subjective. What one person sees may differ vastly from another's viewpoint. This is the beauty of human interaction.
Conclusion: Be Your Own Masterpiece
In conclusion, you are a masterpiece. Embrace your complexity and let your true self shine. Don't let the world define you. Instead, define yourself through your experiences and interactions.
By understanding your three layers, you can navigate life with confidence and authenticity. You are not just a splash of paint; you are an intricate, beautiful butterfly.
