You Are Many Parts

Some people are open books. Some people are not.
.
.
Everyone has at least 3 sides. š
1. How you really are in your mind/inside
2. How you show up and want to be perceived by the world
3. How the world actually perceives you.
Neither of these sides is a lie. All of them are you. We all have multiple parts, no matter who we are.

š„Nurse DeiĀ®ļø-ism: Now, some people have 4, 5, 8, 9 other folks in there. THAT'S not normal. š
But, 3 layers is typical. š
You know inside who you are, but when you're out in public you're not going to buss it wide open to the white meat, no matter how hard you try. It's not the same as you truly are in your skin.
And get this, even when you think you're being EXACTLY who you are, people will perceive you slightly (if not ever so slightly...for some people even more) than you truly are.
Have you ever been in a conversation and you're feeling like you're a hard-core, raw open book, tell it like it is type of person...then someone is like "I always thought ____________ about you."
Then, you're like whuuuut?? How could you think that? I never said that, acted like that, or told you that.
This is because no matter how you show up, each person is going to put their own little sauce on it and often get a whole new flavor. It just happens without intention.
One might see a butterfly, another may see a splash of paint. We are all art. š
Why does this matter?
Because you have to know you. If you allow the world to tell you who you are, or how they perceive you, you will NEVER be you.
You won't even be you in your own skin because you will be cycling all of the things that you have been told.
The other thing is you can only control the narrative to a certain extent. The art and the story is up for interpretation.
If they matter to you, add some commentary to your art to add depth and let it be beautiful....meaning converse, connect, and continue to share more layers. (Personal relationships, family, deep connections, etc).
If they don't really matter like that, let them watch, think, and brush it off. š¤·š¾āāļø They see a splash of paint, a hot mess. AND? You know you're an abstract butterfly. š
